Clemson & GT

well, should we all panic and cry or what?

idk, but those were some sad, sad games.  And I fear dook is going to kill us this year. probably even at home. I imagine Roy is pissed.

Umm, we should...wait and see. No, wait, we should...oh, I don't know what the hell we're supposed to do. Pray?

If we lose this next one at home then ...   . . . well, i'm not sure but it will have been a tough sports season thus far.  Here's hopin' they do well in the tournament.

I'm not worried yet. I still think UNC will make the tournament. As the ACC rolls on, they'll finish in the top 3 and wind up being a 5-6 seed. There's too much talent and pride to have the entire season be a flop.

Everyone knows they have talent, they just turn the ball over way too much due to inexperience.

Plus every single loss for them this season was against a ranked team except for one. So 5 of 6 losses to ranked teams isn't as bad as it seems.

You're absolutely right, we're just spoiled and expect the world out of our teams.   The definitely need to take care of the ball.  I'd like to see Strickland play more too.  I'm kind of surprised he doesn't end up playing more.  But I guess you've gotta play the experienced guys and this bench is deep.  They do have a lot of talent, and I find myself expecting them to play up to their potential.  And then there' leftover expectations from last year and getting used to watching us put up 100 points per game and steamroll opponents.

I just hate that dook is doing so well this year. I hope they get bithcslapped in the tourney.

And it's nuts how shaken up the rankings have been this season.

Did I not say that we were massively overrated in pre-season polls?

and Wake....  man 3 in a row.  But, with Davis and Zeller on the bench, we're REAL young.  It'll be ok...it's only January.

they're messin' up Roy's average!

Yeah these guys are young and they look pretty bad out there.  I'm still not sure what to think of Drew.  I think he's good and once the rest of the team can hang on to the ball for more than 3 seconds he'll make some plays. I still like Strickland a lot.  Oh well, so we don't repeat this year.  I just feel bad for the Carolina fans who work at Dook.

Hopefully the guys get out of this nasty funk and don't end up losing to State too.

Not what I heard:

We deserve to be ranked #1 all season long!

Here's how I rationalize the season so far...

Young teams cause heartache, and I knew that this would be the case.  Mix into that a number of injuries to experienced players, and throw in a dash of some of the top ranked teams in the country and there's a recipe for disaster.  Yikes....BUT!  Who gives a flying rats ass how many wins you get in Dec and Jan, when we want a team thats strong in Feb and March?

This team of Tar Heels has already seen how a top ranked team plays  Over and Over.  The freshman have also experienced what it means to play at North Carolina.  Every opponent is bringing 110% every game....

If anyone can turn them INTO a top ranked team again, it's Roy.  Wouldn't it be great to see them work back to around a #11 ranking going into NCAA after winning ACC tourney over dook?  Make a good run, and laugh the whole way.....that's how I see it happening.

Yeah, that'd be awesome.  So is that what's gonna happen - we're winning the ACC tourney?  You're the one w/psychic powers here.

That'd be really great.  Would pump me up for next season.  I'm not so heartbroken over these recent losses either - I think it's bc I really do think this team is going to be good, so it's surprising me a lot how much their getting man-handled these last games.  I wonder what's the problem exactly.  Must be the shoes.
